Understanding young children. Strengthening relationships. Supporting families.
The Keeping Babies and Children in Mind series helps professionals better understand how infants and young children grow, learn, and develop through their relationships with caring adults.
This series includes seven 3-hour workshops for professionals who work with expectant families, infants, and children through age 6.
Through practical learning, shared conversations, and reflection, participants explore how to:
- Support children's emotional, social, and brain development
Build strong, nurturing relationships with children and families - Recognize and respond to the effects of stress and trauma
- Build on the strengths of children and families
- Use reflection and self-care to strengthen their work
Participants also have opportunities to reflect on how their own experiences, backgrounds, and cultures shape the ways they connect with and support others.
How the Series Works
Each workshop builds on the one before it. You can attend individual workshops, but we encourage completing all seven, in order, with the same facilitator for the richest learning experience.
